On the Keswick LaunchKeswick is set in magnificent scenery between Skiddaw mountain and Derwentwater lake. There is a good range of pubs, caf├ęs, restaurants, galleries and shops within the town and several interesting attractions, such as the Puzzling Place, the Cumberland Pencil Museum or the Keswick Dinosaur & Raptor Experience. There are two attractive parks with activities such as pitch and putt or bowls, and by Derwentwater there are rowboats for hire, or the Keswick Launch provides a water bus service around the lake.

Evening entertainment can be found at the local Keswick Alhambra Cinema or at the Theatre by the Lake, and there is usually live music at one or more of the town's pubs.

For those who like to explore the rest of the Lake District there are excellent drives to be taken, or you can use one of the local bus services to get out and view the scenery.

Via Ferrata at Honister Slate MineIn recent years Keswick has become known as England's Adventure Capital with a great range of outdoor activities available such as fellwalking, rock climbing, gill scrambling, mountain biking or paragliding, and water sports such as wild swimming, windsurfing or sailing. These activities are supported by facilities such as climbing wall or cycle and equipment hire, plus a big range of outdoor and clothing shops.

Every May there is a Mountain Festival in the town, with fell races and a very popular triathlon attracting competitors from all corners of the UK and beyond. Over the year there are many other competitive events in and around the town, such as the popular Keswick Half Marathon, and cycle events such as the Keswick Sportive.
